2. About InforMed
InforMed is a secure, peer advice platform designed exclusively for registered healthcare professionals. The Platform provides a moderated, identity-verified environment in which clinicians, pharmacists, nurses, and other healthcare professionals may seek and offer peer-level advice, discuss clinical matters, and share professional knowledge.
InforMed is designed to serve as a structured, accountable alternative to unmoderated messaging groups and informal communication channels that lack appropriate governance frameworks. The Platform does not provide clinical services, issue prescriptions, or establish a doctor–patient relationship of any kind.
Important: InforMed is a tool to support professional discussion. It does not replace, and must not be used as a substitute for, formal clinical decision-making processes, local guidelines, Trust or ICB policies, or direct consultation with specialists through established referral pathways.
3. Eligibility & Registration
Access to InforMed is restricted to individuals who:
• Are registered with a recognised UK healthcare regulatory body (GMC, GPhC, NMC, GDC, or HCPC) or an equivalent in the UK
• Hold a current, valid, and unsuspended registration with their Regulatory Body;
• Are aged 18 or over;
• Have successfully completed InforMed's identity and professional verification process; and
• Agree to and comply with these Terms in full.
By registering, you confirm that the information you provide is accurate, complete, and current. You are responsible for maintaining the accuracy of your registration details and must notify us promptly of any change in your professional status, including any restriction, suspension, or removal from a Regulatory Body's register.
Note: InforMed reserves the right to refuse registration or revoke access at any time where eligibility criteria are not met or where there is a concern regarding professional standing.
4. Identity Verification
All Users must complete InforMed's identity verification process before gaining full access to the Platform. This process may include:
• Verification of your registration number against the relevant Regulatory Body's public register;
• Government-issued photo identity document checks;
• Professional email address confirmation (e.g. NHS.net or equivalent institutional address); and
• Any additional checks InforMed deems necessary to maintain platform integrity.
Verification is a continuous obligation. InforMed may conduct periodic re-verification and reserves the right to suspend access pending re-verification at any time. Providing false, misleading, or fraudulent information during verification constitutes a serious breach of these Terms and may be reported to the relevant Regulatory Body.
5. Nature of Peer Advice
All content shared on InforMed constitutes peer-to-peer professional discussion between healthcare professionals. It does not constitute formal clinical advice, specialist opinion, or a second opinion for the purposes of clinical governance. Users must understand and accept the following:
• Peer Advice shared on InforMed is the personal professional opinion of the individual User providing it, not a recommendation by INFORMED HCP Ltd;
• Peer Advice does not replace formal referral pathways, specialist consultation, or local clinical governance frameworks;
• Clinical decisions remain the sole responsibility of the treating clinician and must be made in accordance with applicable professional standards, local guidelines, and the best interests of the individual patient;
• No User should act on Peer Advice without applying independent clinical judgement appropriate to their professional role and the specific circumstances of the case; and
• InforMed does not verify the clinical accuracy of content posted by Users and makes no warranties as to its suitability for any particular purpose.
Professional accountability: Seeking or receiving advice through InforMed does not transfer clinical or professional responsibility. All Users remain fully accountable to their Regulatory Body for decisions made in professional practice.
6. User Responsibilities
As a User of InforMed, you agree to:
• Use the Platform only in your capacity as a registered healthcare professional and only for legitimate professional purposes;
• Maintain the confidentiality of your account credentials and not share access with any other individual;
• Ensure that any content you post is accurate to the best of your professional knowledge, appropriate in tone, and consistent with your professional obligations;
• Comply at all times with the standards and guidance of your Regulatory Body, including in respect of social media, online communication, and clinical conduct;
• Immediately notify InforMed if your professional registration is suspended, restricted, removed, or subject to investigation; and
• Promptly report any content you believe to be inaccurate, inappropriate, or in breach of these Terms using the Platform's reporting mechanisms.
7. Confidentiality & Patient Data
The protection of patient confidentiality is a fundamental obligation for all Users of InforMed. You must not post, upload, or otherwise share any content that:
• Contains personally identifiable patient information, including name, date of birth, NHS number, address, or any combination of data that could reasonably identify an individual;
• Contains information from which a patient could be directly or indirectly identified, even if not named explicitly;
• Includes clinical images, scan results, letters, or documents that have not been fully anonymised in accordance with NHS guidance and ICO standards; or
• Breaches your duty of confidentiality under common law, your employment contract, or the standards of your Regulatory Body.
If you wish to seek advice about a patient case, you must ensure all patient details are anonymised before submitting any query to the Platform. InforMed is not liable for any breach of patient confidentiality arising from content posted by Users.
Reminder: Disclosure of identifiable patient information without appropriate legal basis is a potential criminal offence under the Data Protection Act 2018 and may constitute serious professional misconduct.
8. Data Protection & Privacy

• Professional moderation: Content may be reviewed by qualified healthcare professionals appointed by InforMed as moderators;

• User reporting: All Users have the ability and responsibility to report content that may be inaccurate, inappropriate, or in breach of these Terms;
• Audit trails: InforMed maintains records of platform activity to support governance, safety review, and, where necessary, referral to Regulatory Bodies; and
• Clinical escalation: Where content suggests a risk to patient safety, InforMed reserves the right to escalate concerns to the relevant Regulatory Body, NHS body, or other authority, including where this requires disclosure without User consent.
InforMed does not guarantee that all content will be reviewed or that inaccurate content will be identified and removed. Users remain personally responsible for the professional judgements they make when using or acting on Peer Advice.
