o If there are complaints regarding other users that are serious and could potentially lead to fitness to practice investigations by their relevant regulatory body (GPhC,GMC, NMC etc) then personal information that has been collected about the alleged user will be forwarded over to regulatory bodies to help with the investigation process. Additionally, when complaints are made about the experience of the platform we can use the personal information to see if there is a trend for certain professions or for one individual and respond back to them using their contact details.
We collect personal information from two sources:
· Directly from you when you complete forms, register for an account, contact us, or use the platform.
· From healthcare professional regulatory bodies in order to verify your eligibility to use InforMed. We check your registration against the publicly available registers maintained by UK healthcare regulators, including the General Medical Council (GMC), General Pharmaceutical Council (GPhC), Nursing and Midwifery Council (NMC) and others. We do this using each regulator's official register lookup or API where available. The information we obtain may include your registration number, registration status, professional title, specialty, and any publicly recorded restrictions or conditions on your practice.
Our lawful justification for this verification is legitimate interest. This specifically pertains to our commitment to restricting access to the platform exclusively to verified healthcare professionals seeking regulated peer clinical advice, as well as the corresponding assurance for users that their peers are appropriately registered.
